Overview
From the animated series: Research Team LGDV. We took viral characters from internet culture and created a story around them, using original audio to imagine situations and exaggerating the literal meaning of their words. In this episode, we used the widely known video of “Las cholas de Chalco” to bring to life their most famous lines.

Approach
Along with the animation team, we established our own visual and narrative style, and it became one of the channel's most recognizable series. I created a recurring animated format based on the viral culture, grotesque collage animation techniques, and literal humor. With the animation team we created an expanding universe full of recurring characters, bits, and easter eggs to increase audience engagement and recognition of the series online.
Impact
This video was greatly received on YouTube. It kept growing over time, reaching 4.4M views. This video generated highly quotable moments, and even its own memes, that reinforced the identity of the series. We created a line of animation, humor and storytelling that became so popular that if you look for the original video, our version always comes second or third in the search results.
